Description

Magneto is a basic and functional lamp that uses the magnetic field of a magnet. The project focuses on a spherical magnet that combines two simple elements: a support rod with a round base and a compact LED light source such as a flashlight or microphone, which can be flexibly turned and moved along the rod. Magneto combines the flexibility of use of a lamp suitable for endless solutions with absolute formal and functional simplicity. Intense, concentrated and focused light can be directed downwards to illuminate a small area, such as a book, magazine or computer keyboard, or directed upwards to create an atmosphere-filled environment. Therefore, many usage requirements can be met, from reading to diffused lighting. Magneto is available in two different sizes as a table lamp or floor lamp and in two colors: white and black; to distinguish different spaces and moments: from offices to lounges, living rooms and bedrooms. Always special, with a strong yet subtle, attractive and seductive personality, in one word: Magnetic.

PRODUCT CARE

Disconnect the lamp from the power source and clean the product with a soft damp cloth soaked in soap or neutral liquid detergent, preferably diluted with water. Strictly avoid using ethyl alcohol or detergents that contain even small amounts of acetone, trichlorethylene and ammonia (common solvents). Make sure the power supply is unplugged during installation and whenever you work on the lamp.

Giulio Lacchetti

Giulio Iacchetti continues his activities as an industrial designer and art director, alternating with teaching at many design schools and universities. It has distinctive features such as research and definition of new object types. In 2001, together with Matteo Ragni, he won the Compasso d'Oro ADI award for his biodegradable multi-purpose cutlery called "Moscardino", which became part of the permanent design collection of MoMA in New York. In 2009, it was awarded the Innovation Award by the President of Italy. For Foscarini he designed the Tropico project, which is based on a single modular element and creates a variety of shapes, and the Magneto lamp, designed to reposition and direct light by exploiting the invisible power of the magnetic force.
