Description

Filo was born from the desire to display the individual parts of a lamp by revealing the light source, decoration, electrical installation, structural and aesthetic features, and simplifying the grammar and syntax. Its essential character is the result of the choice to use decoration to play a fundamental role, by including elements not traditionally considered decorative. Therefore, the electrical wire establishes a dialogue with the glass pieces and the diffuser in a rhythmic role reversal game. As the energy that enables the lamp to fulfill its illumination purpose moves along the cable, glass globes and bulbs take their place here, turning it into a necklace archetype with a porcelain body that reflects the light onto the wire and glass spheres positioned as a pendant. A wide range of colors, from watercolor tones to the transparent tones of Murano glass, from bright colors with ethnic undertones to the fluorescent hues of contemporary cityscapes, makes it possible to place the lamp in a wide variety of environments, enlivening it with multiple identities.

PRODUCT CARE

Disconnect the lamp from the power source and clean the product with a soft damp cloth soaked in soap or neutral liquid detergent, preferably diluted with water. Strictly avoid using ethyl alcohol or detergents that contain even small amounts of acetone, trichlorethylene and ammonia (common solvents). Make sure the power supply is unplugged during installation and whenever you work on the lamp.

Andrea Anastasio

After completing his philosophy studies, Andrea Anastasio embarked on a cultural journey. This journey included projects such as cataloging Islamic architecture in India, research on innovations in traditional craft techniques and architectural practices, and collaboration with publishers and museums. Due to his interest in examining the poetics of conceptual art and its potential compatibility with industrial design, he began designing furniture and objects for Italian companies that played a leading role internationally. His research focuses on the manipulation of objects, consumer products, and household materials, creating cross-contaminations between languages and meanings. For example, the Filo lamp project he developed for Foscarini.
