Tranquilo
In the past, TRANQUILLO was a small shop in Dresden’s Neustadt district, where cheerful little treasures from all over the world, colorful fleece jackets, and long velvet dresses could be found. You could also spot stylish pieces in bars, waiting for their new owners. TRANQUILLO was always a place for special fashion and all kinds of small items you could gift to loved ones. Anyone passing by the shop could sense it from afar—because countless incense sticks were lined up at the front, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an Oriental market.
How beautiful it was. Yet from time to time, something different was needed. It had to remain colorful and fair—but could it one day be possible to produce their own garments fairly, using ecologically conscious materials? These thoughts set Christian Amthor and Michael Kremer, who have jointly run TRANQUILLO since 2002, into motion. They were almost completely different from one another, but what united them was a shared passion for bringing new ideas to life—and a tendency to question the notion that “things have always been done this way.” When Christian and Micha decide to pursue something, their goal is clear—though the path can be designed in a colorful way, just like the TRANQUILLO style.
