Description

The collaboration between Foscarini and Marc Sadler began with Mite; A highly innovative floor lamp that was awarded the Compasso d'Oro (Golden Compass) award in 2001. The company and the designer even developed a special patent for Mite: a blend of glass fiber and carbon fiber, or Kevlar®, that serves as both decoration and support structure. The technology, previously used in the production of fishing rods, paddles and golf clubs, was introduced to the world of lighting for the first time. The circular shape at the bottom of the lamp extends to where the light source is located. Mite provides excellent illumination with the illusion of internal parabolas, reflecting an intense and warm band of light towards the ceiling. Interior lighting emphasizes the decoration and the slim shape of the lamp. Mite adds an uncluttered presence and elegant personality to any room.

PRODUCT CARE

Disconnect the lamp from the power source and clean the product with a soft damp cloth soaked in soap or neutral liquid detergent, preferably diluted with water. Strictly avoid using ethyl alcohol or detergents that contain even small amounts of acetone, trichlorethylene and ammonia (common solvents). Make sure the power supply is unplugged during installation and whenever you work on the lamp.

Marc Sadler has extensive experience as an industrial designer with many years in the sports industry. These experiences have often provided opportunities to experiment with new materials and innovative manufacturing processes. This innovative and experimental approach has been his way of doing business, even when designing for industries that have traditionally focused more on style. He has won four Compasso d'Oro ADI awards, including in 2001 for his projects Mite and Tite. These projects have become true icons in the Foscarini collection, each marked by technological and stylistic innovation, among them Kite, Twiggy, Tress and Jamaica.
