Description

The Spokes pendant lamp was inspired by ancient oriental lanterns and large exotic birdcages. The designers paid attention to the spokes a bicycle wheel forms as it turns, which gave the lamp its name. The result is a lamp with soft shapes and a lightness that holds the light, letting it filter into the room. The light quality of the project combines with the solidity of the shapes in the metal rods and the practicality of the LED light source, so that while it illuminates surfaces perfectly, it projects a play of light and shadow onto the walls, creating a magical multiplying effect. The development of the project in different shapes, sizes and colour variations underlines its versatility, making Spokes suitable for both living spaces and public spaces, and ideal in large architectural settings and in a variety of compositions.

DESIGNER OF THE PRODUCT

Garcia, Cumini

Garcia Cumini Studio emerged as a result of the merging of two multidisciplinary experiences in the world of design and a shared idea around the concept of "slow design". This approach represents an understanding that searches for a soul in things, shaping poetic intuitions with a broad vision from the evolution of technologies to artistic languages and new social trends. For Foscarini, the studio came up with the Spokes project; They designed lamps with a graphic and sparkling effect created by thin metal rims.
