The design of the Sarrià basket resembles a crumpled piece of paper and is an example of the typical informal language of objects designed by Lluís Clotet for Alessi. The Catalan architect belongs to a group of designers who try to contradict the perfection of form, which is seen as far from human thoughts and hands. Sarrià is made of uneven surfaces, rich in unpredictable reflections.

DESIGNER OF THE PRODUCT

Lluis Clotet

He was born in Barcelona in 1941. He earned a degree in architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Barcelona in 1965. He taught at the same school as Professor of Drawing from 1977 to 1984. In 1964 he co-founded Studio PER with architects Pep Bonet, Cristian Cirici and Oscar Tusquets. He continued various collaborations with the latter until 1983. He joined Ignacio Paricio in 1984 and devoted himself to the design of architectural works until 2008. Also BD Ediciones de Diseno. His works are in many museums.
