Marcel Wanders grew up in Boxtel, Netherlands and graduated from Arnhem School of Art in 1988. It owes its start to its fame to the iconic Knotted Chair, created for Droog Design in 1996. Today, he collaborates with leading European contemporary design producers such as Droog Design and Moooi, for which he is also the artistic director and co-owner. Founded in 2000, Moooi has grown into a world-renowned design brand. Marcel Wanders also works on architectural and interior design projects. Many of his works have been selected for the world's most prestigious design collections and exhibitions. His works have appeared in all major design newspapers and magazines.
