With the Broken Bowl, designer Maximilian Schmahl is literally breaking tradition to create, as the name suggests, a round fruit holder that folds across its diameter and splits in half. The unusual shape of the object makes it possible to arrange the fruit in two parts, playing with the sizes, colors and shapes of different species. Its broken shape gives the Broken Bowl a slightly oscillating feel, reminiscent of the movement a branch makes when fruit is picked.
