Avalon Blue Glass Table

For More Information

Description

Technology and art find perfect harmony in Avalon's extraordinary design. Strong iron sheets, shaped through fine segmentation of planar geometries, form a dynamic table base with curved, concave and convex forms. This design is a masterful example of how a minimalist structure can be emphasised by the strength of its materials: the authentic texture of natural iron meets the archaic expression of the kiln-formed glass used for the tabletop. While Avalon's simple, solid form is balanced by the movement of its base, the glass top, reminiscent of the rippling surface of water, transports us to a dreamlike world, even another planet. Avalon, like Roxy Music's legendary album, reflects the bold spirit of the 1980s while also evoking older folklore and legend. Named after the legendary Isle of Avalon, where King Arthur's famous sword Excalibur was forged, this table creates a mythological atmosphere, especially with its glass top in Pacific blue tones. The contrast between the ethereal glass disc and the strong metal base evokes a sense of movement that is both graceful and powerful, like the rise of a wave.
