PRODUCT CARE

DESIGNER OF THE PRODUCT

Achille Castiglioni

Born in Milan in 1918, he began working as an architect and designer in 1938 with his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo. He was a founding member of ADI, one of the great masters of Italian design, in the fifties. The long list of awards he has received includes eight Compass d'Oro. His effectiveness as a designer is a clear mix of simplicity, irony and fun, demonstrating his keen interest in the way objects are used, the potential offered by technology, and the use of new materials. He died in 2002.
